It's official Laura Gonzalez Escallon picks up her first professional win at the rain-shortened, FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship. Due an early morning storm that rendered the course unplayable, the Epson Tour officials suspended play and with over three inches of rain and the amount of time it would take to prepare the course to resume play it was decided the final round was canceled, making this a 36-hole event.
With Gonzalez Escallon's win and Ally McDonald's runner-up finish this week they will be heading to France. The top two finishers in this week's event have earned spots in the LPGA's final major of the seaons, the 2016 Evian Championship.
