Brittany Lincicome vaulted into the top 10 in the Team USA 2017 Solheim Cup point rankings on the strength of her playoff victory at the season-opening Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic. Lincicome finished the final hole in regulation tied with Lexi Thompson at 26 under par and sank a birdie putt on the first playoff hole to notch the win. It was Lincicome's seventh career victory and her first LPGA tournament win since 2015.
Thompson's second-place finish solidified her position atop the 2017 Solheim Cup point rankings. Stacy Lewis remains in the number two position in the point rankings thanks to her third-place finish at the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic. Gerina Piller, who came in fourth place in the Bahamas, remains in third place in the point rankings.

Team USA for the 2017 Solheim Cup will include 12 players from the LPGA Tour. Eight players will qualify based upon points they accumulate from top 20 finishes at LPGA events during the qualifying period. That period began August 27, 2015, and runs through a date to be determined during the 2017 season. Two other players will be chosen from the top players on the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings (who are not already qualified on the 2017 Solheim Cup point rankings). The two remaining players will be selected by Team USA Captain Juli Inkster.
