Michelle Wie, who finished T-2 at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give, made the Rolex Rankings Move of the Week with her outstanding play in Grand Rapids. Wie climbed 15 spots in the rankings from No. 48 to No. 33 with her best finish since her victory at the 2014 U.S. Women’s Open.
“It was a lot of fun,” said Wie. “It was tough out there. I mean the wind just started blowing and it was just interesting. Some spots are really wet, some spots are dry, but overall I felt like I played good this week and I'm happy about it.”
Last week, the Tour veteran posted her fifth top 10 of the season and 54th of her LPGA career. She started the year ranked No. 174 in the world.

Players continue to jockey for one of the automatic spots on Teams USA and Europe.
For four-time Solheim Cup veteran Michelle Wie, her T-2 finish in the Meijer LPGA Classic puts her in a prime position to play her way onto the 2017 roster this August. Wie’s solid finish moved her into the eighth spot in the Solheim Cup standings passing fellow 2015 teammate and six-time Solheim Cup veteran Angela Stanford for the final automatic spot on Team USA.
Danielle Kang, Kim Kaufman, Jacqui Concolino, and Cydney Clanton made jumps in the Solheim Cup points standings with their outstanding performances this past week in Michigan, hoping to catch the eye of Captain Juli Inkster.
European Team hopeful, Georgia Hall will make her debut at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship later this month, after receiving a special exemption to compete in the second major championship of 2017. Hall, is no stranger to American golf courses, having competed in the 2015 U.S. Women’s Open, 2014 Curtis Cup, 2013 ANA Inspiration and 2013 PING Junior Solheim Cup on U.S. soil. The full-time member on the Ladies European Tour (LET), sits atop the European Solheim Cup points list, after two top-five finishes on the LET.
With seven events remaining, another European hopeful Madelene Sagstrom, is making a strong case for Captain Annika Sorenstam as she continues to move up in the world rankings. The LPGA rookie jumped 34 spots to No. 95 in the Rolex Rankings with her T-4 finish at the Meijer LPGA Classic, making her the second highest ranked player from Sweden behind Anna Nordqvist.

With her victory at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give, Brooke Henderson had one of the largest jumps in the season long Race to the CME Globe standings moving up 16 spots to No. 6 with 1,278 points. The Canadian added her fourth LPGA victory and eighth top-15 finishes in 15 starts this season.
Ariya Jutanugarn holds a narrow lead over Lexi Thompson for the top spot in the standings, with So Yeon Ryu (3), In Gee Chun (4), Cristie Kerr (5), Henderson (6), Inbee Park (7), Anna Nordqvist (8), Sung Hyun Park (9), Minjee Lee (10), Shanshan Feng (11), and Sei Young Kim (11) rounding out the top-12.
