2017 Solheim Cup Team USA Point Rankings

After notching her first LPGA win at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship Danielle Kang has all but assured herself a trip to Iowa and a berth on Team USA for the upcoming Solheim Cup. The San Francisco native, who has been on a roll since April, has piled up 140.5 points during the past month, moving from ninth place to sixth in the Team USA points rankings.

Michelle Wie was the other big points gainer during the month moving into a tie for seventh with Brittany Lang. Lexi Thompson, Stacy Lewis, Gerina Piller and Jessica Korda also added to their points by carding top-20 finishes at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship.

There are still plenty of tournaments and points to be won, including two majors, the U.S. Women's Open and the RICOH British Open, before Team USA is determined.

Team USA for the 2017 Solheim Cup will include 12 players from the LPGA Tour. Eight players will qualify based upon points they accumulate from top 20 finishes at LPGA events during the qualifying period. That period began August 27, 2015, and runs through August 6, 2017. Two other players will be chosen from the top players on the Rolex Women’s World Rankings (who are not already qualified on the Solheim Cup point standings). As of July 5, the leading Rolex Ranking prospects include Mo Martin and Lizette Salas. The two remaining players will be selected by Team USA Captain Juli Inkster.
