CROMVOIRT, Netherlands - Day two of the Solheim Cup at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands began in a draw, with both the U.S. and European Teams earning four points on the first day of the team competition and by day’s end, the two teams were right back where they started. Here’s a closer look at the takeaways from Saturday’s Foursomes and Four-Ball matches at the Solheim Cup.

Ahead of the Sunday Singles matches, the U.S. and European Teams are tied at 8-8.

Saturday Four-Ball

Three thrilling hole-outs highlighted the afternoon session on Saturday in the Four-Ball matches. The fireworks started early when Europe’s Maya Stark, who went out in the first match of the session alongside Linn Grant, holed her approach to the par four for eagle to take the early lead in the match. Auston Kim of the United States chipped in from off the putting surface at the par four, third hole to go 1 UP in her match alongside teammate Rose Zhang. And Leona Maguire produced even more spark when she holed a pitch from off the green at the par four, eighth hole to cut into the lead of Zhang and Kim. Ultimately, the Americans would win three of the four matches in the afternoon session, while the Europeans clinched a single point.

Coughlin Can’t Quit

The 33-year old American Lauren Coughlin will play in all five matches of the 2026 Solheim Cup, becoming the first American to do so since Paula Creamer in 2011. Coughlin has sat just one session since joining the U.S. Team in 2024, when she did not play the Saturday Four-Ball matches at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club. Her streak of having never lost a match in the Solheim Cup came to an end Saturday afternoon when she lost her Four-Ball match with Megan Khang to Maya Stark and Linn Grant.

Saturday Foursomes

Team Europe won three out of the four matches in the morning Foursomes session on Saturday to take a 7 to 5 lead ahead of the Americans. The U.S Team of Alison Lee and Lauren Coughlin won the only point of the morning session for the Americans with their 6&5 victory over Charley Hull and Lottie Woad.

Korda and Corpuz Suffer First-Ever Defeat

In a surprising upset, the duo of Allisen Corpuz and Nelly Korda suffered their first defeat in three Solheim Cups played together, falling on Saturday morning in the Foursomes to Europe’s Linn Grant and Maya Stark. The Swedes never trailed in the match and closed out the Americans 3&2 to earn the first point of the morning for the Europeans. Korda and Corpuz had been 5-0-0 in the Solheim Cup dating back to 2023.

Rookies in the Record Book

Friday morning, European team members Mimi Rhodes and Nastasia Nadaud made history as rookies in the Solheim Cup. It’s not often that rookies are paired together in the Solheim Cup but Rhodes and Nadaud have played like a pair of veterans in their two matches together, winning both, to become the first pair of rookies in Solheim Cup history to win multiple matches. Rhodes and Nadaud won their Saturday morning foursomes session with an impressive 4&3 victory over Auston Kim and Andrea Lee. Rhodes and Nadaud also won their Fourball match on Friday afternoon.
