As the only Epson Tour champion in 2020, Janie Jackson (Huntsville, Alabama) joined David Marr this week on his SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio show Mornings with Marr to talk about her win at the Florida’s Natural Charity Classic in March and how she plans to rekindle that momentum, among other topics.
“It was a good week for me with my first win as a professional,” said Jackson. “The golf course played so tough that week and might have been the windiest conditions I have ever played. I was both excited and eager to compete again. It is frustrating to have a big break, but there are positives in everything. We’re always on the road, so it has been nice to be in one place. I do miss competing, though.”
Jackson has competed in 60 Epson Tour events since her rookie year of 2016. Along the way, she owns a total of seven top-10 finishes including that coveted title earlier this season. With all the time between tournaments now, Jackson is working to jumpstart her intense motivation from a couple months ago.
“It’s like we’re in another offseason,” Jackson said. “I’ll keep working on the same things I worked on in the winter and try to get back to that same place I was in mentally. When the time comes to lock back in to that competitive zone, I think the feelings and thought process will all come back naturally.”
