The European Solheim team once again made a splash on the LPGA Tour at the North Texas LPGA Shootout. Although there wasn't any shift in the Solheim Points, Europeans are gaining momentum leading up to the Cup.
Six European players finished in the top 15 last week. Carlota Ciganda had her best LPGA finish last week in second, and Suzann Pettersen followed up a win in Hawaii with a third place finish. Other top European finishes include Karine Icher (T7), Dewi Claire Schreefel (T11), Giulia Sergas (T15) and Caroline Masson (T15).
Once again, the top American finish came from Stacy Lewis who finished tied for seventh in Texas. Paula Creamer and Cristie Kerr finished tied for 11th, but other than that, there were no notable finishes. The rankings stayed the same from the previous week with Lewis, Creamer and Kerr at the top and potential Solheim rookies, Lexi Thompson (6), and Lizette Salas and Jessica Korda (T7) finishing out the top eight.
Although Korda, Salas and Thompson failed to earn points last week, they are all in position to make the team this year. In the video below, they all talk about what it would mean for them to make it.
