Biggest Comeback

• Team U.S.A. had never come from more than 2-down to win the Solheim Cup. They came from 4-down to win on Sunday.

Smallest Margin of Victory

• Team U.S.A. defeated Team Europe by the smallest margin of victory in the history of the event at one point. The previous record was two, held by Europe who defeated Team U.S.A. 15 to 13 in 2011.

Best of the Week

Gerina Piller was the most improved player from her performance in 2013 for Team U.S.A., having gone 0-2-1 winning just ½ point in her first appearance, Piller was a star in 2015, tying Cristie Kerr for the best record of the week at 3-0-1.

Piller won 21 of the 68 holes she played, 19 of which she won with birdie or better.

But beyond the numbers, Piller will be most remembered for the clutch putt she made for par at the 18^th hole to clinch a full point in her match against Caroline Masson to ensure Team Europe, already with 13 ½ points, wouldn’t get the half point they needed to claim the Cup and keep the American hopes alive.

Charley Hull had the winning most record of the matches and for Team Europe at 4-1-0. She played the most holes of the week at 85, winning 23 of those. She lost only one match during the week to Cristie Kerr in Sunday Singles. Hull looked to have the match locked up early with a 3-up lead through four holes. But Kerr battled back to beat Hull 3&2.

Veteran Cristie Kerr led by example this year, matching Gerina Piller for the best record for Team U.S.A. at 3-0-1. Kerr made her own history, moving up in the record books:

• Kerr moved into a tie for third most appearances in the history of the Solheim Cup with 2015 being her eighth.
• Kerr played in four matches this week, increasing her overall total to 38 matches in her career, second most all time behind Laura Davies at 46.
• Kerr won 2 ½ points alongside partner Lexi Thompson during the week, the most she has won with one partner during the course of a Solheim Cup. The pair was also the most winning duo for Team U.S.A. in 2015.

Michelle Wie clinched her only point of the week in her single’s match over Caroline Hedwall, defeating her 6&4, the fourth largest margin of victory in the history of the Solheim Cup. Wie never trailed on Sunday, losing just one hole to Hedwall at the 13^th hole, but bounced back with a birdie on the 14^th hole to win the match 6-up.

How the Captain’s Picks Fared

Paula Creamer and Brittany Lang were selected by Captain Juli Inkster to represent Team U.S.A. Creamer was widely criticized for her lack of good play recently, missing four cuts before teeing it up at the Solheim Cup. Creamer quieted critics by going 2-2-0 for the week, including clinching the final point for Team U.S.A. in a 4&3 defeat of Germany’s own Sandra Gal.

Lang did not find as much success in this year's matches, with a record of 0-2-1, bringing her overall Solheim Cup record to 5-6-3 in four appearances.

The two Captain’s Picks won a total of 2 ½ points for Team U.S.A.

Caroline Hedwall, Catriona Matthew, Karine Icher and Caroline Masson were selected by Team Europe’s Captain Carin Koch. After dominating with a perfect 5-0-0 record in 2013, Hedwall cooled in this year’s matches with a 1-3-0 record for the week. The veteran Catriona Matthew, making her eighth Solheim Cup appearance again delivered for Europe with a 3-1-0 record in 2015. Karine Icher had a hot putter throughout the week, propelling her to a 2-1-0 record in her third appearance. Germany’s Caroline Masson did not play her best golf in front of her hometown crowd with a record of 0-2-1 for the week.

The four captain’s picks for Team Europe won a total of 6 ½ points for their team during the 2015 matches.
