Team USA and Team Europe will not only take on each other during the 2017 Solheim Cup, they will also take on a course consistently rated by Golf Digest as one of the top 10 in Iowa; Des Moines Golf and Country Club. Scott Howe, Director of Golf at DMGCC who knows the course better than anyone, offered a preview of the 15th hole.
"This is a slight dogleg right. The Solheim Cup tees will set up so that the hole plays 530 yards or so. Certainly it’s within the players' range to get to the green in two. A shallow green guarded by three bunkers on the right will require players to hit precise approach shots and avoid the bunkers to have a chance to win the hole,” said Howe.
Howe predicted this will be a pivotal hole in match play, "You're going to see a lot of birdies. You may see some eagles." With successful play like that, teams that are three-up in their matches would pull away from their competitor and end the game.
