With many LPGA Tour players staying indoors, how is one to practice effectively? A little bit of ingenuity.
It takes some thinking, as household materials suddenly become essential and creative in the pursuit to continue perfecting their swing.
For example, a ladder and empty containers. After seeing PGA Tour player Billy Horschel take up a ladder challenge video of his own, Sarah Kemp wanted to give it a try, in hopes of staying fresh while cooped up at home. Stacking the containers on each rung, Kemp hit each one off – in less than 45 seconds. Over 84,000 views later, on Twitter alone, Kemp was surprised to see how far her video reached.

“I really can’t believe how much attention the Ladder Challenge video has received. It’s so cool,” said the 34-year-old native Australian. “So many people have sent me their own videos and thanked me for something to do during this downtime. It’s even made the national news one night in Australia.”
<>Thankfully, Kemp said she’s used to practicing in the garage, so the car in the video’s background remains free from ball dents. She said she’s keeping busy at home by using the net and practicing her putting with a mat, while also reading and “eating too much.” But she’s already thinking of a way to top her last video.“My brain is storming for a ladder challenge 2.0!”
Even LPGA Hall of Fame member Inbee Park also is utilizing her surroundings, although with a slight distraction from her golden retriever, Rio. As the 20-time LPGA Tour winner chips from inside her home, Rio catches it mid-air, and proceeds to demolish what was once a trusty golf ball.
Park recently launched her YouTube channel, which also includes a fun trick shot into a cup of water, as she urged her fans to stay at home at the end of the video.
