The 2021 U.S. Solheim Cup Team will be comprised of 12 American players from the LPGA, who are selected in the following order:
Note: To be eligible for the U.S. Solheim Cup Team, players must be both U.S. Citizens and members of the LPGA Tour.
Qualifying Period: The Qualifying Period for the 2021 U.S. Solheim Cup Team shall begin on the date of the first Ranking Event after the 2019 Solheim Cup team was announced (CP Women’s Open, Aug. 24-27, 2017) and shall end after the 2021 AIG Women’s Open (Aug. 19-22, 2021).
Ranking Events: Ranking Events are those tournaments which take place during the Qualifying Period and are designated as such by the LPGA.
U.S. Solheim Cup Points: Points shall be awarded to the top 20 participants at each Ranking Event. Points are doubled at the five major championships (ANA Inspiration, U.S. Women’s Open, KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, Amundi Evian Championship and AIG Women’s Open).
*U.S. Solheim Cup points can only be earned by a player from the date on which she becomes eligible based on the above criteria and in accordance with the IGF Nationality Policy.
*If any player indicates that she is unavailable to play for the 2021 USA Solheim Cup Team before the end of the Qualifying Period, she will be replaced by the next available player from the U.S. Solheim Cup points list or Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings as applicable.
*If any player sustains an injury, becomes ill, or is otherwise unavailable to play for the 2021 U.S. Solheim Cup Team after the end of the Qualifying Period, (which shall be determined by LPGA in its absolute discretion), the player will be replaced by a player who fulfills the criteria set out above and who shall be selected by the USA Solheim Cup Team Captain.
